Lamayuru as seen from Resort

Lamayuru , a sleepy village famous for its old monastery is located at a distance of about 130 Km from Leh city at a height of 3,510 meters.

Travel Note :

Altitude wise, this place is 500-600 ft below Leh, the main city and hence good for much needed acclimatization. This place is endowed with Moonland and Monasteries (one at Alchi another at Lamayuru itself). Shadow and light play hide and seek here throughout the day.
